Signs of a Heart Attack
There are particular warning signs that may indicate a heart attack. If you or a loved one is experiencing any of these, it is important to call for an ambulance or go to the nearest emergency room immediately in order to seek treatment. Some possible symptoms may include:
- Pain in the chest;
- Pain the arms, neck, jaw and back;
- Unusual sweating;
- Nausea;
- Shortness of breath;
- Feeling weak;
- Fever;
- Loss of consciousness;
- Dilated pupils; and
- Pallor (paleness).
It is your doctor's job to recognize these signs and administer treatment before it's too late. Early detection and treatment are the only way to minimize damage and potentially avoid loss of life.
